RESONIKA is growing between Gubin and Guben. It connects music, art, fashion, performance and work in public space into one cross-border project. We do not treat the border as an ending. We treat it as a meeting point for two cities, two cultures and new ideas. We use what already exists: space, architecture, material and the history of a place, giving them new meaning. Two cities. We do not begin by asking what we can buy. First we look at what already exists. Military surplus, steel, textiles, tyres, films, industrial elements and materials destined for disposal become the starting point for new objects, costumes and installations. Traces of a material’s previous life are not flaws. They are part of its history.
